"Ouchi-juku" flourished as an important road inn town connecting Aizuwakamatsu City and Nikko Imaichi in the Edo period Even now, it retains the remnants of the Edo period as it is It seems that they are actually living as a store and residence to take over this landscape. The photo was taken from a small hill. The sight of more than 30 thatched-roof houses lined up was spectacular.

これは福島県の「あぶくま洞」の鍾乳洞で撮りました。 長い年月をかけて狭いところを掘り進んだ探検家の人たちによってみつけられ、長い年月をかけてこんな形になったとの事。 中を歩いているときはダンジョンの中を歩いているようで、ワクワクしながら進んでたのを覚えています。

Was shopping the other day in Nihonbashi and saw this akabeko and thought it was really cute so I decided to take a photo of it. The name was quite funny to me as well. Instead of the usual "akabeko" this was a "nemubeko," or "tired-beko" basically, and you can see how the eyes are actually half way shut instead of the normally wide-open eyes, giving it the tired look lol. I've always wanted to try an akabeko experience as I love traditional Japanese crafts and akabeko in particular seem really fun to make. I've read a few posts in another places of people trying akabeko workshops and having a really fun time. I haven't used papier mache since I was a kid either so it'd probably be a nostalgic experience for sure. If I do try an akabeko workshop, I think I'll make a "nemubeko" as well lol

I am the representative of Ultimedia Inc., and live in Hachioji, Tokyo. I grew up in New York City until I was 7 years old and lived in Paris, France when I was in middle school. I worked in the construction industry between the ages of 19 and 27, and at 27, I joined an IT company. Four years later, I started my own company, Ultimedia, and ten years later, I launched COOL JAPAN VIDEOS. I love Japan so much that I only travel within Japan. My hobby is walking around and eating at various places, and I want to share gourmet and sightseeing photos from my travels. I am the representative of Ultimedia Inc. living in Hachioji City, Tokyo. I grew up in New York from the age of 0 to 7 and lived in Paris, France when I was in junior high school. I worked in construction from the age of 19 to 27 and jumped into an IT company at the age of 27. Four years later, I started my own business and established Ultimedia Inc., and 10 years after its establishment, I launched "COOL JAPAN VIDEOS". I like Japan so much that I travel only domestically. My hobby is eating and walking, and I would like to share gourmet photos and sightseeing photos at my travel destination.
