I keep seeing pictures of the Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces and I really just need to go and see it myself. I don't know what it is about rice fields but they're some of the most beautiful scenery you can find in my opinion. I think that's another thing I really love about places like Akita, Saitama, etc. It really just makes me wish summer was here already. I want to go outside and enjoy a barbecue at some park. Spring would be great too, I'd get some plum wine and eat some barbecue under the cherry blossoms. I always love seeing the rice field art too, so if I can see some this year I'll be really happy. I think I saw some in Akita but I didn't get a chance to see any in Saitama yet, so maybe I'll try and find some out there and go out for a visit.

Evangelion really takes me back. I remember watching this when I was a kid and having no idea what was going on lol. I just remember seeing big robots fighting and thought it was the coolest thing. Come to find out the story was a lot more complex than I would have guessed lol. But then again I just thought the robots were cool. I remember watching stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Big-O, etc. etc. on Adult swim all the time. That was before I even knew what anime was. I just thought "man these shows are awesome" lol. It's interesting to think back on how much Japanese culture I was actually influenced by when I was younger without even realizing it. Maybe that's why I decided to learn Japanese in the first place. I was influenced by Japanese media without even realizing it. If that's the case then I'm thankful for it lol. Worked out great in the end!

Awesome photo. I've heard of Soma-Nomaoi before. I really want to check it out actually and see all the horse races and stuff. I guess they do drills that were used by the military back in the day which would be really cool to watch as well. I'm a huge fan of horseback archery and archery in general so if they have that that'd be awesome as well. I didn't know there were portable shrines as well. I'd have to read up more on the festival but it definitely looks interesting. I have a friend over in Fukushima Prefecture so if I could get out there and meet them when this is happening it'd be awesome. Hopefully corona has settled down by July, but if not then I guess there's always next year. I'll have to eat some tasty festival food somewhere else I guess ?

I love the reflection the bridge and surrounding treeline makes on the surface of the river in this photo. Really beautiful stuff. I'd like to visit Aizu-Wakamatsu because I've heard that Aizu-Wakamatsu Castle is awesome and also the local sake in the area is supposed to be really good as well. I'm not too familiar with the area but I know Aizu-Wakamatsu is surrounded by mountains and that Mt. Bandai is over there. Maybe that's it in the background? I'm not too sure, but whatever the case may be it's a really breathtaking photo. Japan's snowscapes really are a gift that keeps on giving. Especially this year there's a ton of beautiful landscapes like this and getting to see them posted everywhere is really great. Everyone has such amazing photos it makes me want to try my hand at photography ?. Maybe someday, we'll see lol

Tadami Line and snow scenery.
The first bridge and the train reflected in the Tadami River, and it was a very fantastic scenery.

Long day out today. Figured I'd check everyone's posts before bed and wow! I'd not heard of Mt. Yoshino, although I can see why Toyotomi Hideyoshi would have loved it. The scenery is truly beautiful here. I can't even imagine how beautiful the cherry blossoms must be if they're even more amazing than the snowy landscape in this photo. I suppose Kinpusenji Temple is the large building just to the right of the center of the photo. I'd love to give it a visit. It's Nara too, so hopefully I can see some deer during my visit. If not then I'll just have to stop by the park to watch people being chased for their crackers? Lovely place though, I'm interested in seeing what it looks like in Autumn as well. Japan never ceases to amaze me with it's colorful foliage so I can imagine Mt. Yoshino is no exception either!

Mt. Yoshino is said to have been loved by Hideyoshi Daiko.
Mt. Yoshino is famous for its cherry blossoms, but the snowy scenery is also exceptional.
This scenery can be seen several times a year.
The snowy scenery dyed in white silver and the presence of Kinpuzan-ji Temple are irresistible.
