We’d like to thank everyone for submitting so many wonderful photos to the COOL JAPAN VIDEOS photo contest!
This was the first photo contest since the release of COOL JAPAN VIDEOS, and we were pleasantly surprised and grateful for the number of high-quality photos submitted to us.
We are not professionals when it comes to photography, so we chose photos that we thought exemplified the theme "The Beauty of Japan," and that moved us.
The selected photos will be included in our promotional video for the English-language release, and will be distributed worldwide.
We think we've made a great promotional video with all of your photos!
Lastly, we will continue to devise various ways to communicate the appeal of Japan to people around the world, and we will continue to make the site more convenient for as many people to use as possible.
We hope that by continuing to encourage people to post information about Japan, more people will discover the country's charms and visit Japan after the world has overcome the novel coronavirus.
With the release of the English version in November, many people from overseas will be visiting the site.
We hope you'll enjoy communicating with people from all over the world.

Also, I chose this photo for its ability to express the image of Japan as an island nation and a country where myths have remained since ancient times.
You can feel the freshness of the new greenery and the coolness inside the Buddhist temple from the photos, even in the heat of summer.
I enjoyed seeing the autumn version of this photo as well; it was as if I could feel the growth of the children.
The clouds over Lake Ashi in Hakone create a serene atmosphere, and the silence of a snowy morning can be felt in this photo.
I feel like I was able to see a new side of Mt. Fuji in this photo.
This photo is of Mt. Fuji and a rice paddy taken from the Shizuoka side of the mountain.
The faint outline, the contrast between the blue sky, snow-covered, Mt. Fuji, and the tea plantation is breathtakingly beautiful.
It's a piece that gives a sense of traditional Japanese culture.
In closing
As amateurs, we think it is presumptuous of us to judge the excellent photos taken by all of these photographers, but we have done our best to select the award-winning photos as judged by our amateur viewpoints.
We hope that by seeing your photos, people overseas who watch the promotional video will be able to feel the beauty of Japan and want to learn more about it.
We feel that we have been able to select photos that will communicate the beauty of Japan to many people around the world.
We are planning to hold more photo contests with different themes in the future.
