[Englsih/日本語] Stopped by Cerian, a confectionary shop a minute's walk from the school, and found the now rare "raccoon dog cake! I didn't hesitate to buy it ?"Tanuki Cake" is a raccoon-shaped cake that became popular about 40 years ago, and it is even said to be an endangered species, as there are fewer and fewer stores making this cake these days. I was very impressed by how carefully the raccoon's face was made. The taste was very sweet, and my fatigue flew away ✨ 学校から徒歩1分の洋菓子屋さん「セリアン」さんに立ち寄ったら、今は珍しい「タヌキケーキ」を発見!迷わず買ってしまいました?「タヌキケーキ」は今から40年ほど前に流行した、タヌキの形をしたケーキで、最近はこのケーキを作る店が少なくなっていることから、絶滅危惧種とも言われているくらいです。タヌキの顔がとても丁寧に作られていてとても感動しました。味はとっても甘くて、疲れが飛んでいきました✨

[English/日本語] Do you know "Miyako Manju," the soul food of Hachioji? 30 yen per piece, you can buy these manju near Hachioji Station. They are popular among students because of their affordable price. They taste very delicious with a gentle sweetness. The store is a local store that collaborates with a nearby university, and the design of the manju often changes, so you can enjoy eating it while having fun. You should definitely try it ?.

Visited Shibamata for the first time over the weekend. I'd been meaning to go for a while because it seemed like an interesting place to visit in Tokyo, but I just hadn't had the chance until now. It was a really nice place and I was surprised at how few people were there. There was a ton of shops lined up along the main street and the wooden buildings gave it a really nice atmosphere. I haven't seen Otoko wa Tsurai yo, but there were statues and posters of Tora-san everywhere, even inside shops and stuff. I guess I'll have to watch it some time when I have the chance. We ended up eating lunch at one of the restaurants along the main road and they had some Tora Miso Ramen so we decided to try it. It was pretty good and had a decent amount of vegetables in it as well, so moderately healthy for ramen I suppose. We also got some dessert at a cafe afterwards and she got some dango while I ordered an ice cream float. We also went to the nearby temple Shibamata Taishakuten (柴又帝釈天), or Daikyoji Temple and walked around the main temple grounds and also bought tickets to see the garden and the architecture inside the temple. The garden was really pretty and the walkway around it was quite nice to walk on. I really enjoyed viewing the inside of the temple as there was a ton of hand-carved panels depicting different scenes. There were descriptions below each of the panels that described them as well, and they were interesting to read. It seemed like they were all carved by different people but they were all highly skilled. When we were leaving we found a nice little shows style candy shop and we bought some snacks and played a round of pinball on one of the pinball machines inside the shop. Haven’t played pinball since I was a kid, was pretty nostalgic. If you're in Tokyo I definitely recommend giving this place a visit on the weekend.

Went down to Takamatsu over the 3 day weekend last week. It was the first time either one of us had been to Shikoku before and it was a lot of fun. I'm surprised it's not talked about more, as there's so much stuff to do. We stayed near Takamatsu pretty much the whole time and we still didn't get to visit every place that we wanted to go. The first day mostly consisted of Ritsurin Park. The park (garden) itself was quite large and there was a lot of beautiful sights to see. We really wanted to go on the boat ride throughout the park's pond, but unfortunately it started to rain just a tiny bit and they closed the boat for the rest of the day, just before we arrived...☔️ Even still we had a lot of fun walking around the park. There were a lot of koi and turtles swimming in the pond too. We stopped by a small cafe-like building inside the park and i got an ice cream float and she got a coffee. In front of the shop one of the custodians came by with a big bucket of fish food and created a feeding frenzy amongst the koi. I'm pretty sure I saw a single catfish in there as well. After we finished our drinks we climbed to one of the best viewing spots in the park which had a really amazing view of the bridge and the pond. You can see the people on the boat we didn't get to ride too lol? The one building shown in photo 9 was actually a tea house where I think you could try traditional tea ceremony and eat sweets as well, but they also seemed to offer just a normal tea drinking experience as well. We decided not to try it, but if you like tea ceremony it looked quite nice.

[English/日本語] Continuing from last week, I will talk about a crepe shop in Nish- Hachioji. There is a crepe shop called "Twin's Crepe" just a minute walk from the school. The crepes here are so popular that they have been introduced on TV many times. The crepes are beautifully rolled in thin crepe dough and are a work of art. The taste is of course very good. You can eat them as a reward for studying hard?✨ 先週に引き続き、西八王子のクレープ屋さんについてお話をします。

[Englsih/日本語] Nishi-Hachioji, where our school is located, is famous for its many delicious crepe shops. Among them, "Crepe Anne" opened in 1983 and has a long history and many fans. Most of the crepes are handmade. In autumn, you can enjoy eating while viewing the rows of gingko trees. Students who are tired of studying can refresh themselves with a sweet treat.

Dropped by a cafe near Oji Station the other day and ordered a small chocolate cake and a tea. It looks strikingly similar to the one I had at the pasta restaurant a few days ago, with very minor differences lol. I didn't take a photo of the tea unfortunately, I was too focused on eating the cake?. I suppose it's a popular dessert combination as it seems quite easy but delicious at the same time. The cafe is called Dining Cafe Tagen (ダイニング カフェTAGEN). When I passed it on Halloween they were opening the large doors at the front of the shop and preparing some sort of Halloween event, although I wasn't able to see exactly what was going on with it. They had a big speaker as well, so maybe they were going to sing and give candy away lol. I'm not really sure though. I think they were wearing costumes as well, it looked pretty interesting. It's a nice place though. It can be a bit cramped at times but otherwise it's a nice place to go for a coffee and dessert if you're in the area. You can also take the streetcar (Tokyo Sakura Tram) to get there as well which is a plus!

Went and had some pasta at a small cafe called Abbraccio the other day. I got a cream and mushroom sauce penne which tasted great. The salad was served with a small slice of bread which complimented it quite well. The desert was really simple but tasted excellent. Just add a bit of the whip cream (I think it's whip cream anyways) and the (what I thought was) cherry sauce and it a great way to finish the meal. They had a PayPay campaign going on as well and we managed to get a 50% discount and only ended up paying ¥700 per meal, which was pretty incredible considering we got the drink sets as well, which unfortunately aren't pictured here, but I ordered a chamomile tea I believe. Or something similar to that. It was also quite refreshing. The place seems to have a couple of balcony seats as well but I'm not sure if you have to request them or reserve them or what, but by the time we noticed them we were already seated so we decided not to ask. Overall it was a pretty good place and the service was good as well

Went to Diver City in Tokyo over the weekend. We'd visited in the past as well but my gf's friend was in town so we decided to go again. There's so much to do there that it would take a month to do everything probably. We decided to go to the "Unko Museum" this time lol. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting to be honest. When the clerks would say "thank you" they would say "arigatounko" and it was pretty funny. It was really colorful and there was a bunch of different games you could try as well. We heard people yelling "unko" extremely loudly and were confused until we found out that it was a game. The objective of the game was to yell "unko" as loud as you can, and whoever managed to do so, would create the bigger poop. It was embarassing to do, but at the same time pretty funny (I managed to win lol?). Besides the "Unko Museum," we also did the VR experience and ran away from zombies, etc. Couldn't take photos since we were in VR but it was fun. We also ate dinner at a steak restaurant that was pretty good and picked up a couple desserts before leaving. Lots of fun though. Definitely plan on going again lol.
