Natto for People Who Hate Natto?! Making Red Soybean Natto! Kyo-Natto Made by a President Who Used to Hate Natto!

Red Soybean Natto Video Introduction This video, titled "How to make a Delicious Japanese "Kyo-Natto" Amazing "Natto" Master in Kyoto Japan![ASMR][DELI BALI]," was uploaded by "DELI BALI." This series features Kyo-natto, a popular product in Japan's Kansai region, made by Fujiwara Foods, near Kuramaguchi Station in Kyoto. Check out the video below to see how the delicious Kyo-Natto is made. Red Soybeans - One of the Many Varieties of Soybeans! Photo:3 types of soybeans Did you know that there are many varieties of soybeans? When you hear the word "soybeans," the first thing that comes to mind is probably the common yellow soybean. However, there are actually other varieties of soybeans, including red soybeans, green soybeans, and even black soybeans. Among the many varieties, red soybeans are a rare variety with few farmers growing them. Their nutritional value and flavor are superior to those of other varieties, and they are highly sought after. Different Ways to Eat Red Soybeans One problem many people have with natto is that the soybean skin remains in their mouth even after they've finished eating. The skin of red soybeans is so thin that it easily passes through the teeth, and the texture is pleasant, so the skin does not remain in the mouth. Also, because of its strong umami flavor, many recipes have been published for people who want to taste the full flavor of the bean, such as nimame (boiled soybeans). In addition to the sweet nimame, there are many other ways to enjoy soybeans, such as boiled in salted water, served with rice, or with spinach and tofu dressing. There are many different recipes to try out. In this video, red soybean natto is used as an ingredient. Kyo-Natto - The Creme de la Creme of Natto Source :YouTube screenshot The video introduces Fujiwara Foods, a leading natto manufacturer in Kyoto. In addition to natto made from common soybeans, the company also produces red soybean natto and green soybean natto. Several types of natto, including "Kyo-Natto Otsubu" (京納豆大粒, Large Bean Kyo-Natto) and "Kamogawa Natto" (鴨川納豆, Kamo River Natto), which won an excellence award for five consecutive years at the Japan Natto Competition, are loved by many natto fans. The process of making red soybean natto begins with the artisan's hand washing of the beans. The beans are gently washed by hand and soaked in water until they are about twice their original size. From there, the red soybeans are cooked in a pressure cooker. In the video, you can see the pressure cooker, which is full of Fujiwara Foods' commitment and history. After the beans are cooked, natto bacillus is immediately sprayed on the beans. Before the beans cool down, the natto is packed and left in the fermentation room for another 20 hours before the red soybean natto is finally ready. President Fujiwara says he never liked natto and did not want to take over his family's business. However, he is now known as a natto maker with fans not only in Kyoto but all across Japan. Summary of Kyo-Natto, a Natto Made With Red Soybeans Natto is a food for all genders and ages because of its high quality protein, so much so that it's called "Hatake no Niku" (畑の肉, 'the meat of the fields') in Japan. Furthermore, in recent years, soybeans have been attracting attention from people interested in dieting as a low-sugar food. Natto is made from fermented soybeans, which makes it even more nutritious. However, as the president of Fujiwara Foods disliked natto, it is a food that Japanese people are quite divided about. For those who dislike the smell, using spices such as wasabi, garlic, or curry seems to make it easier to eat. Be sure to give it a try if you dislike natto yourself. Even some natto lovers probably didn't know that there's red soybean natto and green soybean natto, or they may have known about them but have never eaten them. You'd be surprised at how different the different types of soybeans are. Red soybean natto is on a whole different level from regular natto. Be sure to give it a try! -

Gifu Wagasa: A Beautiful Skill Passed Down Through Generations. A Look at the Danger and Possibility of This Important Cultural Tradition of Gifu, Dying Out
Traditional Crafts- 122 plays
- YouTube
Craftsmen of "Gifu Wagasa" In this video [Express yourself, pass on the techniques – Gifu Wagasa](心を伝え、技を承ぐ 〜岐阜和傘〜) we introduce to you one of the traditional Japanese crafts "Gifu Wagasa" through interviews with craftsmen who explain in detail their production process. The traditional Japanese paper umbrella is made from bamboo and Japanese washi paper and is a very beautiful and photogenic work of art. Gifu prefecture in the Tokai region of Japan is the largest producer of Japanese paper umbrellas in Japan. At its peak, there were approximately 16,000 people involved in Japanese paper umbrella work in Gifu prefecture's Kanou region. Currently, due to decrease in demand, there are only a few dozen people involved in the Japanese paper umbrella business, and they are under immense pressure to keep this tradition alive. In this article, we would like to introduce to you (together with the accompanying video) the history and manufacturing process of the Gifu Wagasa. The History of Gifu Wagasa Source :YouTube screenshot The Japanese paper umbrella dates back to the year 552AD, when umbrellas made from bamboo and paper called Karakasa were first produced. The traditional Japanese paper umbrella was commonly used for hundreds of years. In 1950, approximately 14 million Japanese-style umbrellas were produced. However, due to the spread and popularity of the Western-style umbrella, sales of Japanese-style umbrellas have dropped dramatically with only a few tens of thousands being produced in recent years. That being said, traditional Japanese style umbrellas such as the Nodategasa and Bangasa are still being produced and so the culture remains to this day. The photogenic appearance of the Gifu Wagasa makes it a wonderful souvenir or decoration and because of this, it has slowly begun to regain popularity. How Are Gifu Wagasa Made? Source :YouTube screenshot Over ten craftsmen are involved in the production of a single Gifu Wagasa and they can take anywhere from half a month to a month to make. The manufacturing process is divided into six steps. The first step, called Honekezuri, involves carving down bamboo to make ribs for the umbrella. Followed by Rokurozukuri, which involves making a section called Rokuro from a specific tree called Ehretia acuminata. After that, Ayatsurikomi, which slide into the Rokuro section, are made. Smaller bamboo ribs on the inner section of the umbrella called Kobone are tied together with string, a process which is called Tsunagi. From 3:34 in the video, you can see the bamboo structure of the umbrella and from 5:46 you can see how Japanese washi paper is attached to the umbrella (a process which is called Kamihari ). Finally, the umbrella receives the finishing touches, a process called "Shiage," which involves the application of oil, drying the umbrella in the sun, and then a final application of lacquer to complete the umbrella. There are other areas of work which only craftsmen with specific skills can carry out, however there is the fear that the number of such craftsmen will decline in the coming years. From 2:10 in the video, Masanori Haneda (a bamboo rib craftsman (竹骨師, takeboneshi))speaks of how he became involved in making Gifu Wagasa. From 4:17, Toyoko Hayakawa (who holds the title of Tsunagi-shi and Kagari-shi) talks during an interview of the low demand for Gifu Wagasa in recent years. You can also watch interviews with several other craftsmen in this video. Get Your Own Gifu Wagasa! Photo:Wagasa There are many specialty Gifu Wagasa shops in Gifu Prefecture, such as Nakamuraya Kasaten, where you can purchase your own Gifu Wagasa. For those who are interested in purchasing their own Japanese paper umbrella, we recommend taking a trip to Gifu prefecture or checking out some of the online retailers where you can find Gifu Wagasa with beautiful artwork finishes. There are even very affordable Gifu Wagasa that can be purchased for as little as a few thousand yen. Recently, you can find very modern-looking cherry blossom design Japanese umbrellas for sale, produced in collaboration with the mobile game Idolmaster Cinderella Girls. Gifu Wagasa Craftsmen Video Summary Source :YouTube screenshot We hope you enjoyed learning about the Gifu Wagasa manufacturing process through the article and video. A wide variety of craftsmen are involved in the making of Gifu Wagasa, from the rib-makers to the canopy-makers. Recently, a project has been launched that aims to increase the number of Gifu Wagasa craftsmen in order to ensure this important traditional craft is passed on to the next generation. For anyone who would like to experience using a traditional Japanese-style umbrella, we recommend purchasing one from one of the online sites where you can find a variety of styles, all beautifully designed by skilled and experienced craftsmen. -

It's a popular line among railroad enthusiasts and tourists for its spectacular scenery. The Tadami Line is a local line with a reputation for enjoyable train travel. This video features the SL (steam locomotive) Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go, one of the most popular trains on the line. Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go's Tadami Line - Ranked the #1 Local Line Source :YouTube screenshot The Tadami Line is a 135.2 km long line belonging to East Japan Railways (JR East) and connects Fukushima and Niigata prefectures along the valleys of the Aburuma (破間川) and Tadami Rivers (只見川). The Tadami line runs through one of the most mountainous areas in Japan, so the scenery from the train windows is incredibly beautiful and it's very popular among travel lovers. With fresh greenery in the spring, autumn leaves in the fall, and snowy scenery in the winter, you can enjoy the scenery from the train windows all year round on the Tadami Line. As the train runs along a canyon, there are many railway bridges. Among them, the "No. 1 Tadami River Bridge," which can be seen from 0:03 in the video, is a popular spot for photographing the beautiful SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go. The "No. 1 Tadami River Bridge," which frequently appears in the video, was completed in 1938 as a truss arch bridge. In a survey by The Nikkei on October 11, 2008, the Tadami Line was ranked first in the NIKKEI PLUS1 "Top Ten Railway Lines with Beautiful Fall Foliage." You can see the scenery of the steam locomotive Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go running on the No. 1 Tadami River Bridge at 0:10 and 1:18 in the video. The SL Aizu Tadami Koyo-go is a C11 325 type, and has three coaches. It starts from Aizu-Wakamatsu station and ends at Tadami Station. The C11 325 model has been running on many routes since it was manufactured in 1946, and is still in service today as the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go. When the steam locomotive is not in operation, there is also a trolley train called the Kaisoku Kazakko Tadami Line Koyo-go. This is another train we highly recommend riding if you have the chance. The Tadami Line is famous as an "unexplored line," and what better way to experience it than traveling through it on a steam locomotive? Sightseeing Destinations in Aizu via the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go Photo:Higashiyama Onsen, Fukushima Prefecture The SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go starts at Aizuwakamatsu Station in Fukushima Prefecture. Adorable Capybaras Enjoying the Hot Springs! Capybaras are the largest members of the rodent family, and the video 「みんなで入浴 カピバラ温泉~桶風呂~始めました! 2017.12.5(埼玉県こども動物自然公園 公式/SaitamaChildrensZoo official )capybara onsen』, created by 「埼玉県こども動物自然公園(SaitamaChildrensZoo)」compiles scenes of capybaras enjoying bathing in the hot springs. These scenes of six capybaras considerately entering the hot springs together will warm your heart. The video has also become popular, not only among the Japanese, but also with people from overseas. The Capybaras Introduced in the Video, and Why They’re in the Hot Springs Photo:Capybaras Capybaras are members of the rodent family, and can be found from Panama in South America, all the way to Northeast Argentina. With calm and gentle personalities, capybaras are also popular as pets, and are the largest members of the rodent family, growing up to 106 to 134 centimeters. Males weigh around 77 to 141 pounds, while females weigh around 81 to 145 kilograms. Being proficient swimmers, capybaras tend to escape to the water once they sense approaching danger. They can remain underwater for up to 5 minutes. Although the water is their shelter and haven, due to their warm natural habitat, capybaras are weak to the cold. As a countermeasure to combat cold winters, the “Capybara Hot Springs” was created. The Capybara Hot Springs and the Saitama Children's Zoo Source :YouTube screenshot The Saitama Children's Zoo holds a “Capybara Hot Springs” event every year. The event lasts from November through March, with the location being at the Capybara/Wallaby enclosure. Pools built to look like rock baths are filled with water warmed to a suitable temperature by the sun. Besides the unique springs such as the yuzu bath, a waterfall bath and tub bath are also prepared. The video begins with five capybaras heading towards the hot springs. Of the five, three enter the bath with floating yuzu, one makes for the smaller tub bath, and the last heads for the waterfall bath. Without any jostling or competition for space, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. From 1:22 in the video, another capybara appears. The scene of this capybara unobtrusively lowering itself backside-first into the yuzu bath is extremely heartwarming. From 1:43 in the video, the capybara in the waterfall bath can be seen wiping its face, and from 1:53 is seen staring peacefully into space, contently settling into the water. The fact that these capybaras act just like little humans will bring a smile to your face. In the Saitama Children's Zoo, you can enjoy viewing the capybaras while warming your feet in the foot baths. Why not stop by and enjoy the relaxing hot springs together with the capybaras? Saitama Children's Zoo Photo:Saitama Children's Zoo Saitama Children's Zoo is a spacious park located in Saitama Prefecture, Higashi-Matsuyama City in Japan's Kanto region (関東地方・埼玉県東松山市, Kanto-chiho・Saitama-ken Higashi-matsuyama-shi). Besides the zoo, the park also boasts the "Children’s Castle" (こどもの城, Kodomo no jo) as well as a large playground (みんなの広場, Minna no hiroba) where children can run around and play. In the playground is the “Adventure Forest Athletics” area (冒険の森アスレチック, Bouken-no-mori asurechikku) as well as the “Shabu-shabu Pond” (じゃぶじゃぶ池, Shabu-shabu ike) with water activites. Fujiya Ryokan - Spend the Weekend at a Long-Standing Onsen in Yugawara, Kanagawa That Blends Classical and Modern Aesthetics

Fujiya Ryokan in Yugawara, Kanagawa This video, titled " Fujiya Ryokan [Selected Lodgings to Visit on Weekends]" (富士屋旅館【週末に訪れたくなる厳選宿】), was uploaded by "Relux Lodging Diary" (Relux宿日記). Fujiya Ryokan, featured in the video, is a popular long-established hot spring inn located in Yugawara, Kanagawa, in Japan's Kanto region, near Hakone. The hot springs and scenic beauty of the area between Yugawara and Hakone have a long history that is mentioned in ancient texts, such as the Manyoshu. Fujiya Ryokan already had a predecessor building in the late Edo period (around 1750-1860 AD), and the oldest building today, the Old Building, was built in 1923. The oldest building, the "Old Building" (旧館, Kyuu-kan) was built in 1923, making it a building with nearly 100 years of history. The New Building, the Old Building, and Rakumiso, all of which have equally elegant guest rooms, are connected by a long corridor that leads to the large bathhouse, allowing visitors to enjoy a stroll through the Japanese garden before a relaxing bath. The Old Building, the (as its name implies) oldest building at the inn, provides guests with a stylish and tranquil space with a Taisho-modern taste of the time inherited through the use of fine 13.68-centimeter square pillars made of Japanese cypress and glass doors with kumiko panels. The New Building is a high-quality guest room that provides a conscious blend of Japanese and Western styles while maintaining the retro feel of the Showa period. The guest rooms can be viewed at 0:43 in the video. The History of Fujiya Ryokan in Yugawara, Kanagawa Source :YouTube screenshot According to "Guide to Yugawara" (湯河原案内, yugawara an'nai) published in 1918, Fujiya Ryokan started its business as a hot spring inn in 1920, and was called "Juhoen" at the time. After crossing the long bridge over the Fujiki River, you'll see a vast site lined with towers and annexes, and it is introduced as a famous ryokan where you can enjoy nature and flowers in every season. The large bath is a hot spring cypress bath with a weak saline solution (weak alkalinity), and is considered a beauty spring because its pH is close to that of human skin. You can see the large bath at 2:39 of the video. Of course, visitors can also enjoy the hot spring water in the indoor baths of their guest room. Fujiya Ryokan has been loved by many Japanese literary figures, including Doppo Kunikida, Natsume Soseki, Yosano Akiko, and Junichiro Tanizaki. Gourmet Dining at Fujiya Ryokan in Yugawara, Kanagawa Source :YouTube screenshot When you think of hot spring inns, besides the hot springs and luxurious rooms, if there's anything you don't want to miss out on, it's the delicious cuisine they serve. Fujiya Ryokan's restaurant, Hyorokutei, offers dishes that will make even the most seasoned gourmet's taste buds sing. The name "Hyorokutei" comes from the traditional good omen for good health - Gourds (Hyotan in Japanese). It combines the words "gourd" (Hyo)tan, six (roku), and "restaurant" (tei). (※Gourds have long been a good luck charm for good health in Japan) Savor the mouthwatering fish dishes made with a wide variety of Higashi-Izu seafood from Sagami Bay, as well as premium ingredients, such as Japanese black beef, locally harvested game dishes, and domestic eel. We also recommend the "dancing icefish," which you can see in the video at 2:18, served with ginger vinegar, a specialty of Yugawara. If you're too busy for an overnight stay, Fujiya Ryokan's one-day hot spring and gourmet plan is a great option. At Hyorokutei, even on a day trip, you can enjoy sumptuous kaiseki cuisine, shabu-shabu made with local sea bream, charcoal-grilled meat, and other delectable dishes. Summary of Fujiya Ryokan in Yugawara, Kanagawa Source :YouTube screenshot What did you think? Fujiya Ryokan, introduced in the video, has been chosen by foreign tourists as one of the best inns in Japan. Once you stay there, it's almost inevitable that you'll become a repeat guest! Enjoy hospitality and luxury that you can only find in Japan. Udo Shrine - Enjoy the Power and Healing of This Historic Shrine Located on a Rocky Cliff in Miyazaki Prefecture, in 4K!

Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture This video, titled "4K 鵜戸神宮 宮崎県 Udo Shrine Miyazaki, Kyushu JAPAN," was released by "Shiso Productions." Udo Shrine is a shrine located in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture, in Japan's Kyushu region and was previously classified as a Kanpei Taisha (imperial shrine); however, in the present it is designated as a Beppyo Jinja (a shrine designated and tracked by the Jinja Honcho (Association of Shinto Shrines). As you can see from 7:04 in the video, the main shrine is enshrined in a rock cave (sea cave) on the cliffside facing the Hyuga-nada Sea (日向灘). In order to worship at the shrine, you need to go down the stone steps along the cliff, making it a rather rare shrine, as most shrines require you to walk up to them. In this article, we'll introduce Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture. A Look at Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture? The History of the Shrine Photo:Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture Udo Shrine is famous as a sacred place for worshipping the sea, and the rock cave where Udo Shrine is enshrined is said to be the place where Princess Toyotama built a birth hut to deliver the deity, Ugayafukiaezu. From that relation, the 6 pillar gods were enshrined here during the reign of Emperor Sujin under the name of "Rokusho Gongen" (roughly "the six manifestations of Buddha") and during the reign of Emperor Suiko, it is said that a shrine was built in the rock cave and named Udo Shrine. Sightseeing at Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture Photo:The petting rabbit at Udo Shrine, Miyazaki Prefecture ① Lucky Shimenawa (福注連縄) The shimenawa rope at the entrance of Udo Shrine is used to purify the body and remove any impurities. ② Petting Rabbit (撫でウサギ) It is said that by petting the rabbit associated with Udo Shrine, wishes for recovery from illness, good luck, and success will come true. ③ Shuinchō Seen at 10:48 in the video, this is the red stamp book that shows the characteristics of the shrine. We recommend getting one along with an omikuji to commemorate your trip. Sightseeing Around Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture Photo:Kameishi, a sacred stone at Udo Shrine, Miyazaki Prefecture The main shrine of Udo Shrine is built in a natural cave. Its charm lies also in the surrounding scenery. The magnificent view of the natural scenery, such as the blue sky and the azure sea combined with the vivid, scarlet-painted shrine gate and tower gate is, in a word, splendid. In addition, there's "Ochichi-Iwa," which looks like a woman's breast and is famous for praying for safe childbirth, and the so-called milk water dripping from it. There's also a sacred stone shaped like a turtle with an indent on its back, and it's said that if you're a man you throw an "undama" (lucky ball) with your left hand and if you're a woman, you throw it with your right hand, and if you manage to throw it into the indent perfectly it's said to make your wishes come true. There's also Haccho-zaka, an 800-meter long stone staircase that leads from the port of Fukigei to the gate of the shrine. It's the oldest stone stairway approach to a shrine and has strange rocks such as "Futahashira-iwa" and "Mifune-iwa." "Udo Senjojikikigan" on the south side of Udo, where Udo Shrine is enshrined, is another spot we highly recommend. It is a stratum (Neogene Miyazaki Formation) that was deposited from 1,000 years ago to 1 million years ago and is characterized by the repeated accumulation of hard sandstone layers and soft mudstone layers. Over the years, it has been exposed to the harsh waves and winds and rain of the Hyuga-nada Sea and has been eroded to its present appearance. The wavy rocks created in this way are also known as the "Devil's Washing Rock" or "Devil's Washboard" and have been designated a cultural property by Miyazaki Prefecture. The Values and Customs of Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture Photo:Ochichi-Iwa at Udo Shrine, Miyazaki Prefecture Udo Shrine also has two legendary boulders called "Ochichi-Iwa" and "Hikikiri-Iwa" and are said to have aided Princess Toyotama when she was breastfeeding her children. Both are places of worship for people who wish for safe childbirth and child rearing. At Udo Shrine, there is an event called Shanshan-Uma, which is a tradition of Miyazaki that was held from the middle of the Edo Period (1603-1868 AD) to the end of the Meiji period. On a steep and difficult road called Nanaura Nana Touge, the bride rides upon a horse with the groom taking the reins and heads for Udo Shrine. This custom has disappeared, but it is held as a sightseeing event to reproduce what it may have looked like at the time. Summary of Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture Photo:Udo Shrine in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture In 2017, the Udozaki area became a nationally designated scenic spot called "Udo," and the locals refer to Udo Shrine as "Udo-san." Aside from being a beautiful scenic spot, it is also a popular power spot and Instagrammable tourist destination. You can enjoy various famous sightseeing spots, such as Udoyama Magaibutsu, Udoyama Haccho-zaka, Udoyama Magaibutsu and the Nichinan Coast just by strolling around the area. Shanshan Umadou Chu-uta Taikai is a singing event in which visitors compete in singing a traditional Japanese folk song. The event is held in March every year, so if you are thinking of sightseeing at Udo Shrine consider visiting during the event. 【Tripadvisor】Udo Shrine https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1023424-d1238711-Reviews-Udo_Shrine-Nichinan_Miyazaki_Prefecture_Kyushu.html -

The station offers an unobstructed view of the Seto Inland Sea, and has become famous for its beautiful scenery, which is tinged with beautiful oranges and reds at sunset. Shimonada Station is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ehime Prefecture. Shimonada Station – A Filming Location for Popular Japanese Dramas and Anime Photo:Shimonada Station, Iyo, Ehime Shimonada Station has been used as a filming location for many movies, TV dramas, and anime because of its picturesque appearance, the sweeping view of the Seto Inland Sea, and the fantastic scene created by the sunset. In movies, it was used as a location for the film series "Otoko wa Tsuraiyo," and in TV dramas, it was a location in the tv shows "HERO" and "Rebirth." In animation, Shimonada Station appeared in "Beyond the Boundary" produced by Kyoto Animation. It's also been pointed out that near Shimonada Station, a railroad track leading to the sea can be seen, reminiscent of Spirited Away, produced by Studio Ghibli. Shimonada Station is not only a popular destination for tourists, but also a place of pilgrimage for fans of movies, TV dramas, and anime. The picturesque scenery of Shimonada Station has also been used in TV commercials and posters, attracting many people to the station as the setting for visual works. There aren't many places to see or eat around the station, so you need to be careful about that. You can take your time taking pictures of the sea and beautiful scenery, and enjoy the seasonal flowers in spring, summer, fall, and winter. There's also a café called Shimonada Coffee just outside Shimonada Station, where they serve delicious coffee. Relaxing on a bench at the train station, and sipping a cup of coffee is a great way to take a break. The "Sunset Platform Concert" (夕焼けプラットホームコンサート) held once a year on the station platform is another popular event. Unfortunately, the concert was held without an audience in 2021, but it's still held every September. It's a wonderful event where you can enjoy music together with beautiful scenery. 【TripAdvisor】Shimonada Station https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1022359-d8707273-Reviews-Shimonada_Station-Iyo_Ehime_Prefecture_Shikoku.html -

Climbing Round Trip From Mt. Oku-Hotaka to Uma no Se: Video Introduction This video, titled "Mt. Oku-Hotaka to Gendarmes|Route Change After a Rockslide|Video of a Detailed Round Trip of Uma no Se" (奥穂高からジャンダルム 滑落みて馬の背ピストンへ変更 馬の背詳細往復動画), was uploaded by "Biryu Jr." Mt. Oku-Hotaka Photo:The Hotaka mountain range from Mt. Norikura Mt. Oku-Hotaka is the main mountain of the Hotaka Mountain Range, which straddles Nagano and Gifu prefectures in the Hida Mountain Range of Chubu-Sangaku National Park in the southern part of Japan's Northern Alps. At 3,190 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak in the Northern Alps and the third highest in Japan after Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kita. Mt. Oku-Hotaka (奥穂高岳), Mt. Karasawa (涸沢岳), Kita-Hotaka (北穂高岳), Mae-Hotaka (前穂高岳), Nishi-Hotaka (西穂高岳), and Mt. Myojin (明神岳), are collectively referred to as Mt. Hotaka. It is said that the origin of the mountain's name comes from a legend that a god named Hotakami-no-Mikoto descended to the summit of Mt. Oku-Hotaka. Even today, the mountain is revered as a sacred mountain by local people, who visit and climb it to pray. The first person to summit Mt. Oku-Hotaka was surveyor Gunji Abe in 1906. With its challenging routes, powerful rocky ridges, and panoramic views from the ridge, Mt. Hotaka continues to attract many climbers to this day. The Geological Features of Mt. Oku-Hotaka Here, we'll take a look at the geological features of Mt. Oku-Hotaka ・Volcanic Terrain Mt. Hotaka, including Mt. Oku-Hotaka, is formed mainly of dacitic ignimbrite called "Hotaka andesite." This rock was formed by pyroclastic flows during an eruption approximately 1.75 million years ago, and was uplifted 2,000m over a period of 1 million years after a large-scale eruption. ・Glacial Landforms Many glacial landforms have been observed on Mount Hotaka. Glacial landforms are landforms created by glaciers that have accumulated soil, sand, rocks, etc., while carving away the land below. Mt. Oku-Hotaka – Uma no Se Photo:Uma no Se on Mt. Oku-Hotaka Mt. Okuhotaka, a famous mountain climbing spot, has a narrow ridge called "Uma no Se" (horse's back), which is steep and features cliffs on both sides. Because of how steep it is, it's also a dangerous place where falling accidents occur frequently. The slopes, which look like a combination of rubble, require extreme caution in order to prevent accidents. In the video, you can see how they decide not go to Gendarme (a rocky summit between Mt. Oku-Hotaka and Mt. Nishi-Hotaka), and instead decide to descend via Uma no Se. It's as realistic as if you were there yourself. The sound of the wind, the hands gripping the rocks, the shadows of climbers moving toward the spectacular views... the power of these scenes draws you in. [Video] 5:44 - Advancing Along Uma no Se Mt. Oku-Hotaka – Routes and Difficulties Here are the routes of Mt. Oku-Hotaka according to difficulty level: ・Kamikochi Course (上高地コース) - The recommended route for beginners Starting from Kamikochi Bus Center, the most common route is [Myojin (明神) - Tokusawa (徳沢) - Yoko (横尾) - Hontanibashi (本谷橋) - Karasawa (涸沢) - Mt. Hotaka Hut (穂高岳山荘, Hotakadake Sanso), Mt. Oku-Hotaka]. Your itinerary should be arranged according to your physical fitness. It is common to stay overnight during the climb. ・Kenkyakusha-Muke Course (健脚者向けコース) The rough route is [Shin Hotaka Onsen (新穂高温泉) - Shirade Hut Ruins (白出小屋跡) - Mt. Hotaka Hut (穂高岳山荘), Mt. Oku-Hotaka]. The trailhead is at Shin Hotaka Onsen. Since there are some points on the ascent where it's easy to make a mistake on the route, it's recommended that you be accompanied by an experienced climber. Furthermore, since route conditions change according to lingering snowfall, it's necessary to check trail conditions ahead of time. Kitahotaka Hut (北穂高小屋) - Karasawa Hut (涸沢岳) - Mt. Hotaka Hut (穂高岳山荘)]. The ridge course from Yarigatake continues through rocky terrain with considerable height differences. Normally, three nights are required for this route, and extreme caution is needed as there are many steep sections. Summary of Mt. Oku-Hotaka Photo:Mt. Oku-Hotaka In this article. we introduced one of the three tallest peaks in Japan, Mt. Oku-Hotaka, and Uma no Se. Although there are dangers, such as slips and falling rocks, Mt. Oku-Hotaka is a thrilling mountaineering experience that features spectacular views of nature that attracts many climbers. Although the climb is not without its dangers, the view from the summit and the thrill of climbing over Uma no Se is said to be exceptional. If you wish to take on this challenge, please do your research and go fully prepared. That being said, if you're just here to enjoy some of the views, hopefully the video is enough for you. 【TripAdvisor】Mt. You'll Be Blown Away by the Beauty of These Hand-Painted "Kyo-yuzen" Kimono! This Well-Established Kimono Store in Kyoto, Which Has Been in Business for More Than 40 Years, Gives Us a Look at What Goes Into Making Beautiful Kimono!

An Introduction to Hand-painted Kyo-yuzen Kimono This video, titled "How to Make Hand-Painted Kyo-yuzen|how to make Kimono" (手描き京友禅の作り方-how to make Kimono (熨斗 - 引き振袖) 有限会社 琢磨), was released by "Yuzen Takuma." Kyo-yuzen is a dyeing method used to color kimono and was designated as a Traditional Craft by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1976. Kyo-yuzen, which originated in Kyoto, along with Kaga-yuzen (加賀友禅) and Tokyo-yuzen (東京友禅), are the three most famous types of Yuzen in Japan. Yuzen refers to the traditional dyeing process used to add color and designs to kimono. The History of Kyo-yuzen Photo:Kyoto hand painted Yuzen The Kyo-yuzen method of dyeing originated in Kyoto in the late 17th century, during the Edo Period (1603 AD - 1868 AD). Yuzen Miyazaki, who was a fan painter at the time, decided to paint some of his popular designs onto kimono and thus, Yuzen kimono dyeing was born. At a time when the shogunate had prohibited luxury or extravagance through sumptuary laws, the new Yuzen process, which was exempt from this law, was welcomed by kimono craftsmen and women who enjoyed wearing kimono. Kimono Decoration Using the Kyo-yuzen Method at the Famous Kimono Store "Takuma" Source :YouTube screenshot The well-established kimono store Takuma featured in this video, which has been in business for more than 40 years now, gives us insight into how kimono are dyed using the Kyo-yuzen method. As you can see from 0:32 in the video, the material used to create the kimono is of the highest quality, from the producer "Otsuka" (大塚). Next, you can see how patterns are first sketched out and then transferred to a different sheet that will become the final copy to transfer the design onto the kimono. From there the fine details are added, after which a paste and powder are added to certain parts of the design to prevent colors from seeping into spaces they should not be. A special kind of temple is then affixed to the fabric to hold it in place after which hot water is applied to the fabric to complete the preparations for the dyeing process. Next, a base color is applied to the fabric. A small section of fabric is dyed to test the color, then the dye is applied by brush. The fabric is then steamed to allow the dye to sink into the fabric, after which the fabric is then washed in water to get rid of any remaining dye or chemicals. The beautiful designs are then carefully hand-painted and finished with gold leaf to make the kimono even more luxurious. Takeyamachi embroidery (竹屋町刺繍) and Kinkoma embroidery (金駒刺繍) are then added to complete the look. You can take a look at the final product at 6:48 in the video. Summary of Kyo-yuzen Traditional Dyeing Photo:Ninenzaka, Women in Kimono Kyo-yuzen is a beautiful, traditional Japanese method of dyeing. Please enjoy the techniques and methods used by the Kyo-yuzen masters in the video. Kimono can be purchased online, however, if you would like to order a custom-made kimono, we highly recommend visiting the store to speak with the store owner. The beauty of Kyo-yuzen kimono is as appreciated today as it was hundreds of years ago when it was first developed. We hope you enjoyed learning more about this traditional craft! -

Things to Be Careful Of! Source :YouTube screenshot If you're a woman looking to do some solo camping, we recommend that you choose a location and be thorough with security. Let's look at some points to keep in mind. ・Choose a campsite with a resident caretaker Some campgrounds do not have a resident caretaker. Some campgrounds are not staffed, especially at night, so if you are planning to camp solo, choose a campground with a full-time caretaker. ・Set up your tent in a public place. When setting up your tent, you may be tempted to choose a quiet place to enjoy your time alone, but we recommend that you set up your tent in a place where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic. It's also a good idea to set up as close to family campers as possible to protect yourself from any campers looking for any women camping alone. ・Avoid posting on social networking sites in real time Be careful about social networking sites such as Instagram and YouTube. Posting photos on social networking sites in real time can expose your whereabouts. ・Prepare security goods and locks Always have some emergency supplies, such as a personal alarm, by your bedside, and lock your tent when you go to bed, so that if something should happen, you can immediately warn others of danger. Summary This time we introduced a video about solo camping for women. In winter, Bubetsu Forest Camping Field in Hokkaido is covered with snow and has different scenery in spring and summer. There are also hot springs in the area, so it's a good place to stretch your legs. In addition, there is a barbecue restaurant where you can enjoy Shiraoi beef, a specialty of the area, and a Shiraoi beef store that sells beef directly to customers. With Japan's recent camping boom, women's solo camping has become increasingly popular. The appeal of solo camping is that you can enjoy the luxury of having nature all to yourself with your favorite camping gear. The light of a lantern at night and the sunlight filtering through the lush hardwoods is sure to create a photogenic atmosphere to post on Instagram. Despite all of the enjoyment, women's solo camping can be dangerous. To enjoy camping safely, please keep in mind the precautions we introduced above.
