Downhill Mountain Bike Racing This video is called [Downhill Mountain Bike Racing at a shrine in Kyoto](【ダウンヒル】大迫力!京都の神社でマウンテンバイク(MTB)のダウンヒルレース), and it was made by Gadgetwear. Watch and enjoy the thrilling white-knuckle race down the Shrine stairs. In this article, we'll introduce a video that shows the marvel of Downhill Mountain Bike Racing. This Downhill Mountain Bike Race Runs Down the Stairs at Intense Speed! Source :YouTube screenshot Downhill Mountain Bike Racing is bike racing competition where riders go down steep mountains. The Redbull Holly Ride competition was held at a historical sacred shrine in 2014. The competition was held at Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Yawata city, Kyoto. Bikers raced down the shrine stairs on downhill mountain bikes. You can see the racing style from 0:06 in the video. As you can see in the video, a crowd has gathered at the finish to watch this thrilling race on the road of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. Downhill Mountain Bike Racing Source :YouTube screenshot The total length of the race at Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine is about 800m and the height difference is about 100m from top to bottom. The maximum decline is about 22 degrees and the stairs have 396 steps in total. As you can see at 0:50 and 1:17 in the video, it shows how the course makes use of the landscape, aside from jumps. A qualification match will be held with a time trial and those who win can move on to the final tournament. The final tournament will be held in 4 cross-style which means 4 riders race at the same time. A downhill race is not at all like a climbing course in concept, It is a bike race that goes down through the mountains and wilderness from high places. Advanced riders can reach a speed of about 60 km per hour. This takes a lot of skill (and courage). Wearing a full face helmet and protector is mandatory for riders since there are some spots on the trail ways where it is easy to lose balance and crash. There is a scene where two bikers go off the course before the curve at 1:30 in the video. Racing Bikes Photo:Mountain Bike Dedicated mountain bikes are used in intense races such as downhill races or cross-country. A mountain bike has specialized parts such as tires, a frame and brakes to go fast, climb, ride on rough roads, and withstand high jumps. An all-mountain is a bike that works for uphill and downhill so it is good even for a ride on rocky mountains. Manufacturers such as Trek and Giant sell various kinds of models that are great for mountain bike racing. Tire sizes for mountain bikes are usually 27.5 inches, and the suspension and brake technology has greatly improved over the years. Of course, there are other more affordable models that are good for beginners and daily use as well. Downhill Mountain Bike Racing Summary Source :YouTube screenshot This video clip, made by Gadgetwear, shows a form of bike racing called Downhill Mountain Bike Racing at a shrine in Kyoto. It is truly impressive to see these riders fly down these stairs. You can see gut wrenching thrills in every minute of the video. After watching this video, you'll surely be hooked on Downhill Racing. Just be sure to wear a helmet! 【Official Website】Red Bull Holy Ride 2017 https://www.redbull.com/jp-ja/events/red-bull-holy-ride-2017 -

Source :YouTube screenshot In the video, Emperor Akihito , the 125th emperor of Japan, expressed his desire to retire from his official duties. Japan's Emperor System and Abdication Photo:General visit to the Imperial Palace Emperor Akihito's declaration had a great deal to do with Japan's Imperial House System and Law. Currently, the abdication of the throne is only carried out when the emperor at the time passes away. In order to make abdication possible, the Imperial House Law needs to be amended. As there had never been such a case in modern times, the abdication of the Emperor during his lifetime and next era name were carefully chosen. Subsequently, after extensive discussion, the abdication of the Emperor was approved by amending the laws of the Japanese Constitution to allow him to abdicate during his lifetime. In June 2017, the Special Imperial Household Law on the Abdication of the Emperor and Other Matters was promulgated and came into effect on April 30, 2019. Accordingly, on April 1, 2019, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced the new era name, "Reiwa." The abdication of the throne took place on April 30, and on May 1, Crown Prince Naruhito ascended the throne as the new Emperor of Japan. Summary of former Emperor Akihito's Public Address Photo:Japanese era The video message from Former Emperor Akihito, introduced here, expresses his feelings regarding his reasons for abdication. The Eruption of Shinmoedake, Mt. Kirishima Before we begin, please watch the video "The moment of a volcanic eruption! Shinmoedake “Spouting Volcanic Bombs” Kirishima Mountain Range(火山噴火の瞬間!新燃岳「噴出す火山弾」霧島連山)". This is a video of the powerful eruption of Shinmoedake, Mt. Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture(鹿児島県,Kagoshimaken). You can feel the fury of nature that stretches far beyond the human imagination by watching the video of the dynamic eruption. We will introduce Shinmoedake, Mt. Kirishima through the video with this article, so be sure to follow along. What Kind of Place Is Shinmoedake? Photo:Kirishima Geopark Kirishima Mountain Range is a group of volcanoes that stretches from Miyazaki Prefecture (宮崎県,Miyazakiken) to Kagoshima Prefecture in Southern Kyushu (南九州,Minami-kyushu). Shinmoedake, which is introduced in the video, is 1,421 meters above sea and is located almost halfway between Karakunidake (韓国岳,Karakunidake), the highest mountain in Mt. Kirishima, and the sacred Mount Takachiho (高千穂峰,Takachihonomine) in the east. The area surrounding the peak of Shinmoedake consists of craters and calderas, which are hollows in the ground created by volcanic activity, and it stretches over Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, while the area surrounding the ridge line stretches over Kobayashi City (小林市,Kobayashishi), Miyazaki Prefecture. As you can see in the video, volcanic activity still continues actively in Shinmoedake. The History of Volcanic Activity in Shinmoedake Photo:Shinmoedake The history of Shinmoedake’s volcanic activity is thought to stretch back about 150,000 years. Shinmoedake is a volcano that has violent eruptions called "Plinian eruptions," which produce enormous amounts of volcanic products and energy, and it has been responsible for massive disasters such as the Kyoho Eruption and the Bunsei Eruption in the Edo period (1603-1868), as well as the Showa Eruption of 1959. From existing research, we know that the volcanic eruption during the Showa period was caused by an explosion of water vapor, not magma. The Current State of Shinmoedake Source :YouTube screenshot Shinmoedake’s volcanic alert level is currently level 3 out of 5, and the damage from the falling ash is also immense. Mountaineering on the volcano is also restricted, so the effect on tourism is quite large as well. There are also volcanoes other than Shinmoedake in Kyushu such as Sakurajima (桜島,Sakurajima) and volcanic eruption alerts come frequently, so it is important to check the newest information as often as possible. This video is of Shinmoedake, Mt. Kirishima in January 2011. You can see bright red lava bursting out and rocks flying through the sky from 0:15. You can also see lightning called “volcanic thunder” flash across the rising pitch-black ashes from 1:03. Summary of the Video on Shinmoedake's Volcanic Eruption This video of the volcanic eruption that we introduced is barely 2 minutes long, yet it is a powerful piece of footage that conveys the fury of nature. The volcanic alert level of Shinmoedake, Mt. Kirishima is still extremely high and its activities are being observed carefully. If you are ever to travel close to Mt. Kirishima in Kagoshima, be careful and be prepared! 【Tripadvisor】Shinmoedake https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1022935-d1384894-Reviews-Mt_Shinmoe-Kirishima_Kagoshima_Prefecture_Kyushu.html -

Pufferfish Nukazuke - A Luxury Food That Takes More Than Two Years to Ferment! This Popular Specialty of Ishikawa Prefecture Makes a Great Side Dish!

Introducing Pufferfish Nukazuke This video, titled "Pufferfish “Nukazuke”: Delicacy from a Deadly Fish | Nippon.com: Japan in Video," was released by "Nippon.com: Japan in Video." Pufferfish contains a highly lethal dose of a poison called "tetrodotoxin" in its ovaries and liver. However, in Hakusan, Ishikawa and the Kanaishi District and Ono District of Kanazawa, there is a delicacy called "Fugu Nukazuke" (Pufferfish Nukazuke) which is eaten by fermenting the dangerous blowfish ovary for more than 2 years. It is only in this area of Ishikawa prefecture in Japan that the ovary of the pufferfish, which is prohibited by the Food Sanitation Law, is used as food. The ingredient used is Takifugu stictonotus ("Goma Fugu" in Japanese), which has particularly large ovaries and is good for eating. This can be seen from 0:09 in the video. The ovaries of Goma Fugu contain tetrodotoxin. But how do we get rid of this poison? The secret lies in the processing of the Pufferfish Nukazuke. Be sure to follow along with the video as you read this article! How the Delicacy, Pufferfish Nukazuke, Is Made Source :YouTube screenshot To pickle puffer fish, raw ovaries taken from the Goma Fugu are spread in a 1000 liter container and soaked in salt water with a concentration of 30%, for 1-1.5 years. The sodium contained in the salt has a dehydrating effect, and the water inside the ovaries becomes mostly depleted causing them to harden. From here, the ovaries are soaked in a fermented rice bran bed containing rice koji and chili peppers. At this time, they cover the ovaries with a wooden lid so that they do not come into contact with the air, and place a heavy stone on the lid. Then, in order to prevent oxidation, a kind of fish sauce stock called "Ishiru," made from sardines, is poured into the edge of the barrel. The tissue samples of the ovaries that have been soaked in fermented rice bran for six months to a year in this way are collected, and after the tetrodotoxin test results, they are shipped as commercial products if they are judged to have no effect on the human body. In the video, you can see the cook handling the Goma Fugu and removing the ovaries at 0:14. You can see how they're arranged and laid neatly in a huge container from 0:26 in the video. The finished Pufferfish Nukazuke, taken out of the fermented rice bran bed, is shown in the video from 1:11. Traditional Japanese Nukazuke Photo:Nukazuke Nukazuke is a traditional Japanese fermentation technique, but the scientific evidence for detoxifying lethal toxins such as tetrodotoxin has not been established. However, it is thought that tetrodotoxin may be broken down via the action of microorganisms and lactic acid bacteria that are born during the fermentation process. Since the time when medicine and science were still underdeveloped, the raw ovaries of the highly poisonous Goma Fugu were carefully fermented over a period of more than two years to transform them into harmless luxury foods. The depth of the history of some Japanese cultures is quite astonishing. Summary of Pufferfish Nukazuke Source :YouTube screenshot An amateur cannot make Pufferfish Nukazuke because a cooking qualification license is required to handle pufferfish. Pufferfish nukazuke is a very popular luxury food, and a specialty of Ishikawa prefecture, because the only manufacturer of Pufferfish Nukazuke is Ishikawa prefecture. Eaten as is, Pufferfish Nukazuke is delectable. br> It makes a great side dish with rice and sake, and it also can be used as a seasoning, so there are various Japanese foods you can use it with. Consider giving it a try! -

Saint Seiya is the space fantasy comic made by Masami Kurumada. The comic series began in December, 1985, featured in the popular manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump. The comic was designed on the assumption that it would be adapted as an animated TV series. It had battle uniforms featuring zodiacs that main characters wore called “Crosses” and plastic models of characters were a huge hit with fans. Source :YouTube screenshot The story of Saint Seiya is made based on ancient Greek mythology. The comic depicts the activities of five bronze saints such as the saint "Pegasus Seiya" who protects the Earth from evil with Saori (an incarnation of the goddess Athena), Dragon Siryu, Cygnus Hyouga, Phoenix Ikki, Andromeda Shun, as well as the gold saints. You can see the battle scenes involving bronze saints (in this video clip) at 0:47. Currently, “Saint Seiya NEXT DIMENSION – Pluto Myths” is still being serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. Saint Seiya became a great hit and firmly established its position in the anime world. Until this animation came along, it was believed that the Space Fantasy Action genre was a favorite among boys. However, the mythology based story that included handsome youths stole the hearts of many young women as well. This animation produced by Toei was released as a spin-off work. Figurines of popular characters are still popular to this day and continue to evolve. The Worldview of Saint Seiya : Knights of the Zodiac Source :YouTube screenshot The Japanese version of Knights of the Zodiac concludes in the realm of Hades. The work released by Netflix Japan however, is a completely original animation using 3D Computer Graphics. Therefore the worldview is completely different from the original version. The biggest difference is that Andromeda Shun, one of main characters, was made as a woman. “The Struts” , a popular English rock band sings the theme song. Voice actors were also completely changed. You can hear the Japanese version's theme song in this video. The Controversy Surrounding the Female Andromeda Shun Source :YouTube screenshot The content announced at Netflix's animation works press conference in 2017 shocked fans. That press conference was of the new animation "Saint Seiya, Knights of the Zodiac”. This press conference was exclusively distributed by Netflix through CCXP2018 all over the world. The most controversial point is replacing Andromeda Shun, the most popular character among female fans, with a woman. On SNS, this set off a flurry of reactions among fans. The new animation was also produced by foreign staff at a studio outside of Japan. According to one of the screenwriters, it was determined that they would change the gender of Andromeda Shun to female for the sake of diversity. There were arguments for and against this new animation work. However, most fans say that this is an affront to the original work. The Knights of the Zodiac Video Summed Up Source :YouTube screenshot There are many episodes of the animation version of Saint Seiya, and it has been a favorite of people from all over the world including not only animation and figurines, but also slot machines. Odairajuku in Nagano The video in this article is titled "[Odairajuku] Nagano Prefecture, Where the Streets of the Edo Period Remain" (江戸時代の町並みが残る長野県「大平宿」). It was produced by "Hirokun kiko." The video will have you feeling as though you've been transported back to the Edo period. Odairajuku is located in Iida (飯田市:Iida shi ), Nagano. Let’s take a look at what Odairajuku is! Why Odairajuku Was Made in Nagano Source :YouTube screenshot Odairajuku was a post town in the middle of Odaira road (大平街道: Odaira kaido) that connects between Nakasendo (中山道:Nakasendo) and Sanshu road (三州街道:Sanshu kaido). The history of this area began when Okura Goheiji, a woodworker who processed and manufactured bowls and trays, and Yamadaya Shinshichi, a grain merchant, moved here in 1754. As you can see in the video, many old buildings from the late edo and Meiji periods still exist in this area. The Kiso Range (木曽山脈:Kiso sanmyaku) is located between Ina Valley (伊那谷: Inadani) and Kiso Valley (木曽谷: Kisodani), and the only way to get to Naraijuku used to be via the Gonbei Route (権兵衛街道:Gonbei kaido). The Odaira Kaido was reclaimed at the permission of the Iida Domain in the mid-Edo period in order to connect Tsumago-juku to Nakasendo. The Decline of Odairajuku Source :YouTube screenshot After the opening of Odaira Kaido, Odairajuku it flourished as tea town where worshippers of Motozenkoji temple (元善光寺:Motozenkoji) stopped by to pay their respects. In the Meiji period, Odaira No.3 Elementary school and the Odaira Post Office were established. At the end of the Meiji Period, it became a key distribution center after the opening of the Chuo Main Line. (中央本線:Chuo Honsen). However, the number of people using Odairajuku declined with the opening of Route 265 over Seinaiji pass (清内路峠: Seinaiji touge) in Seinaiji Village, and the decline of the forestry industry during the Showa Period. In the Heisei period, Maezawa-so and other buildings were also destroyed by a large fire. Odairajuku Today Source :Odairajuku|Stay at an old folk house in the Edo period As shown in the video at 1:47, the residents of Odairajuku decided to emigrate en masse in 1970. After the village was abandoned, Odairajuku was reborn as "Irori no Sato," a place where tourists can experience the natural scenery of Japan. Today, thanks to the management of the NPO Odairajuku Preservation Society and Minami Shinshu Tourism, Odairajuku's Marusanso is still used as an accommodation facility. The purpose of using the village as an accommodation facility is to reclaim and preserve this valuable property. This is different from the general accommodation. Unlike a typical lodging facility, residents prepare their own meals using wood and charcoal from the irori fireplace, and clean up when they leave. Fishing and nature experience events are also occasionally held at Odairajuku. There is also a hot spring and a hotel for tourists in the area. The video shows a variety of old houses that are partly dilapidated, but offer a glimpse at life in Japan at the time. Summary of Odairajuku Source :YouTube screenshot The area around Odairajuku is a popular tourist destination, cool and refreshing in the summer and snowy in the winter.
